In 2022, Kaoem Telapak gave 22 journalists a fellowship to cover the current situation of the palm oil industry in Indonesia.

Through their writing, the journalists provide a clear picture of the current situation of the oil palm industry and plantations in Indonesia. The Journalist highlights the workers' and smallholders' issues and the impact of palm oil estates on local communities and the environment.

Moreover, the journalists also revealed various community initiatives to repair their ecosystem and environment damaged by irresponsible industry. The book also covers smallholders who are practising sustainability for their plantations.....
After the public demanded the Government improve oil palm governance, in 2011, the Government issued a certification scheme. Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) is a certification scheme from the Government that palm oil business actors must follow. ISPO underwent significant revisions after the Government issued Presidential Regulation No.44/2020 and Minister of Agriculture Regulation No.38/2020. Even so, the New ISPO still leaves problems. In 2020, FAO warned of the dangers of hunger due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Indonesian government answered the warning from the United Nations by launching the Food Estate project. The government claims the project is a solution to the national food security problem.
