As many as 44 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Indonesia expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the European Union's trialogue regarding anti-deforestation regulations, commonly known as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
According to the Indonesian CSOs, the EUDR is still far from expectations. As a civil society group in a producing country that will be indirectly affected, Indonesian CSOs assess that the EUDR needs to be sufficiently capable of reducing the rate of deforestation, and the greenhouse effect, preserving biodiversity and protecting the smallholders, local communities, also Indigenous Peoples. Unfortunately, it won't.
