Rukmini Paata Toheke is a member of Kaoem Telapak from Central Sulawesi. She specialises in advocacy, campaigning, fisheries and agriculture. Formerly AMAN’s Women’s Director and a member of the National AMAN Council, Rukmini has been instrumental in the fight for the recognition of customary forests in her region.

In 2024, she won the Kalpataru award for her dedication to environmental conservation, particularly through her banyan tree planting initiative and the establishment of Sekolah Adat, which teaches environmental conservation values to the younger generation.

Rukmini has actively fought for the regulation of customary forests and against the criminalisation of indigenous people. She also promotes food diversification as a response to climate change.
