Abu Hasan Meridianis member of Kaoem Telapak who has many works experinence in environmental advocacy and campaigning. Previously, he served as Dinamisator of the Independent Forestry Monitoring Network and Forest Campaigner at Forest Watch Indonesia and Telapak, as well as forest researcher for Greenpeace Southeast Asia.

Abu specialises in advocacy, campaigning, research, photography and videography. He is active in exposing the issue of illegal logging in Papua and the trade in illegal timber such as rosewood. His report, ‘Criminal Neglect,’ criticised weak law enforcement, while ‘Sonokeling in Peril’ highlighted the illegal trade in rosewood.

Abu pushed for improved regulation and supervision, such as improving the SVLK and ISPO systems. He emphasises the importance of independent monitors in natural resource management.
