Muhammad Ichwan, known as Ichwan, is an environment activist, a religious leader, and a member of Kaoem Telapak from Tulungagung, East Java. Graduated from IAIN Tulungagung, he frequently combines the values of spirituality and nature preservation.

Ichwan is a National Executive Director of Independent Forest Monitoring Network (JPIK) and actively supervising forest governance across Indonesia to detect any hint of illegal logging, promote the reformation of forestry policy, and empower the Indigenous Peoples involved with the forest monitoring.

For Ichwan, protecting forests is a moral, spiritual, and social obligation that every person should do collectively.
