Hamsuri

Hamsuri, born in Marabatuan on 7 June 1975, is the Executive Director of Impartial Mediator Network in Balikpapan. With expertise in advocacy, campaigning, and programme management, he plays an important role in Balikpapan Bay conservation efforts. Hamsuri is active in the Environmental Advocates Network and Pokja Pesisir, working to protect the bay ecosystem from the impacts of industry and the National Capital project.

He pushed for the recognition of Balikpapan Bay as a conservation area through the KKP3K scheme, collaborating with the government and communities. In addition, Hamsuri is also involved in other social issues, such as animal rights advocacy and care for the mentally ill.

With experience as Director of KWPLH and LPMA South Borneo, Hamsuri combines legal and community approaches to achieve change. His commitment to the environment and community makes him an important figure in maintaining environmental sustainability in East Kalimantan.
