Fandi Wattimena, a member of Kaoem Telapak from Ambon, Maluku, is a dedicated journalist.

Since joining Kaoem Telapak in 2016, following an invitation from a colleague, Fandi has actively addressed both general and environmental issues in his region. Notable examples include his coverage of nickel and granite sand on Seram Island and gold mining on Romang Island.

Beyond environmental concerns, Fandi is a staunch advocate for press freedom, journalists’ welfare, and anti-violence initiatives.
