Jakarta, 16 August 2024 – During Jokowi’s ten years in office, Indigenous Peoples feel deceived by his promises and commitments at the beginning of his term. Indigenous Peoples feel deceived by the promises that Jokowi has made and his commitments at the beginning of his Jokowi’s administration, which are listed in Nawacita. This was conveyed by Abdon Nababan from the Coalition to Guard the Indigenous Peoples Bill in response to President Joko Widodo’s speech at the (Jokowi) in the Submission of Performance Reports of State Institutions and the State State Speech in the framework of the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

“There was not a single phrase ‘Indigenous Peoples’ in the speech. The speech only contained claims of the successful development of roads, harbours, airports, dams and irrigation networks. Jokowi also claimed the successful development of smelters and processing industries for nickel, bauxite, and copper,” Abdon Nababan added….see attached document
