The book Between Promises of Welfare and Social Environmental Impacts; A Journalistic Search Regarding the Palm Oil Industry in Indonesia results from an investigation by 22 journalists who received fellowships from Kaoem Telapak in 2022......
In 2022, Kaoem Telapak gave 22 journalists a fellowship to cover the current situation of the palm oil industry in Indonesia.

Through their writing, the journalists provide a clear picture of the current situation of the oil palm industry and plantations in Indonesia. The Journalist highlights the workers' and smallholders' issues and the impact of palm oil estates on local communities and the environment.

Moreover, the journalists also revealed various community initiatives to repair their ecosystem and environment damaged by irresponsible industry. The book also covers smallholders who are practising sustainability for their plantations.....

Kaoem Telapak and the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) in the report "Creating Clarity-Analysis of Challenges and Opportunities in the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) Certification Scheme" which was published today, asked the Government to improve regulations and strengthen ISPO governance, and stressed the importance of transparency in ISPO implementation, if you want to ensure the positive impact of ISPO implementation in the economic, social and environmental sectors. After the public demanded the Government improve oil palm governance, in 2011, the Government issued a certification scheme. Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) is a certification scheme from the Government that palm oil business actors must follow. ISPO underwent significant revisions after the Government issued Presidential Regulation No.44/2020 and Minister of Agriculture Regulation No.38/2020. Even so, the New ISPO still leaves problems. After holding activities in Sekadau and Sorong, the Batanghari Regency of Jambi became the location for the next FGD.
