After the public demanded the Government improve oil palm governance, in 2011, the Government issued a certification scheme. Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) is a certification scheme from the Government that palm oil business actors must follow. ISPO underwent significant revisions after the Government issued Presidential Regulation No.44/2020 and Minister of Agriculture Regulation No.38/2020. Even so, the New ISPO still leaves problems. After holding activities in Sekadau and Sorong, the Batanghari Regency of Jambi became the location for the next FGD. Since 2013, PTPN VIII, a palm oil mill in Cikasungka, Cigudeg, Bogor Regency, allegedly polluted the Cikalong and Cidurian rivers with waste when the rainy season arrived.
