Kaoem Telapak (KT) is a Non-Govermental Organization engaging in a environmental issues. KT is member-based organization. In its journey, KT focuses on the issues of Forestry, Agriculture, Community / Indigenous Peoples, and Fisheries which mainly targeted in 3 (three) constituents, they are : Farmer, Fishers, and Indigenous People. To achieve this goal, we play an active role in monitoring, mentoring, and encouraging for better natural resource and environmental governance policies, as well as advocating through legal mechanism toward a just and sustainable management of natural resources in Indonesia.
KT is a transformation of Telapak which was founded in 1996 and was the first Non-Govermental Organization in Bogor in that time, which to be pioneer for other NGOs. Having a new form of organization was considered as an ideal way forward to achieve Kaoem Telapak's objectives. At the age of 20 or in the year of 2016, Telapak changed its name to be Kaoem Telapak through consensus meeting at the Sarongge, known as Maklumat Sarongge and has been registered under Law and Human Rights Ministry of Indonesia with certificate No. AHU-0063636.AH.01.07.

Kaoem Telapak is an individual membership-based organization. The members include NGO activists, farmers, fishers, business practitioners, leaders of indigenous people, and several other professions. A Member is a fully committed and operating arm of Kaoem Telapak and the movement.
