Panji Wijaya, also known as Panji, is a member of Kaoem Telapak hailing from Cilegon, Banten. After initiating his activism through indigenous territory mapping in Kalimantan, he returned to Cilegon in 2016 to focus on energy and coastal ecology issues alongside Pena Masyarakat.

His advocacy centers on the energy crisis and fishermen’s rights, specifically addressing the severe impacts of the Suralaya Coal Power Plant (PLTU Suralaya). He actively assists residents whose health and livelihoods are threatened by coal pollution. Beyond the mainland, his efforts extend to Sangiang Island, where he defends local communities facing agrarian conflicts against private developers following the expiration of a Building Rights Title (Hak Guna Bangunan/HGB).

At the core of his work is a deep commitment to secure the community’s sovereignty over their living spaces. While driving the restoration of land rights to ensure Sangiang Island residents obtain official land ownership certificates, Panji also promotes their economic independence. He brings this vision to life by developing independent marine ecotourism, nature trekking routes, and community-led sea turtle conservation initiatives.
