Hisam Setiawan is a Kaoem Telapak member from Riau as well as a Commissioner for the Indonesia Broadcasting Commission of Riau Region (KPIDR). Also nicknamed Hisam, he was involved in the foundation of a number of organizations for the Indigenous Peoples and nature conservation: Riau Indigenous Peoples Alliance (AMAR), River Defender, and Peat & Mangrove Foundation.

As a Commissioner of KPIDR, Hisam always campaigns environment issues and remind the broadcast medias to consistently cover environment issues.

With the support of news produced by the broadcast medias, Hisam hopes that it may increase the people’s awareness towards environment issues.
