Raden Mohamad Rais is a Kaoem Telapak member from Lombok, East Nusa Tenggara, who has been active in the Indigenous Peoples movements for decades. Known as Rais, he participates in Mambalan Indigenous Peoples Community that is also a member of the Nusantara Indigenous Peoples Alliance (AMAN), and has known Kaoem Telapak since the late 90s.

Rais is actively conducting community data collecting and area mapping as a response to the frequent shift in the indigenous area’s land function into housing area. In addition, he and his community are also routinely planting trees to rehabilitate the land and to anticipate both landslide and flood.

Together with Kaoem Telapak, Rais continues to push for the creation of a Regional Regulation that acknowledges the existence of the Indigenous Peoples in Lombok.
