Community Forestry Enterprise: Foundation, Potential, and Initiation Towards Local Initiative-Based Development
Many experts define Community Forest Enterprise (CFE) as a small- and medium-scale community enterprise that manages forests using agroforestry methods. In Indonesia, CFE officially launched on November 14 2016 in Jakarta. Furthermore, Indonesians translated the CFE terminology as Usaha Kehutanan Komunitas (UKK). Kaoem Telapak is implementing UKK in Indonesia for three community forest areas in Lampung, Yogyakarta and Banten.
This book aims to explain the background of the UKK program in Indonesia and share a story about the potential and initiatives that the program has carried out. This book overviews the learning process for implementing UKK in Indonesia, especially regarding strengthening local institutions and initiatives involving various parties.
